vision of cosmic spirit

American poet John Godfrey Saxe (1816-1887) based the following poem on a fable which was told in India many years ago. It’s a great example of how easy it is for us to close our minds and fill in the blanks with sweeping generalizations. Also, it is a good warning about how out sensory perceptions can lead to misinterpretations.

It was six men of Indostan
To learning much inclined,
Who went to see the Elephant
(Though all of them were blind),
That each by observation
Might satisfy his mind.

The First approached the Elephant,
And happening to fall
Against his broad and sturdy side,
At once began to bawl:
“God bless me! but the Elephant
Is very like a wall!”

The Second, feeling of the tusk,
Cried, “Ho! what have we here
So very round and smooth and sharp?
To me ’tis mighty clear
This wonder of an Elephant
Is very like a spear!”

The Third approached the animal,
And happening to take
The squirming trunk within his hands,
Thus boldly up and spake:
“I see,” quoth he, “the Elephant
Is very like a snake!”

The Fourth reached out an eager hand,
And felt about the knee.
“What most this wondrous beast is like
Is mighty plain,” quoth he;
“Tis clear enough the Elephant
Is very like a tree!”

The Fifth, who chanced to touch the ear,
Said:”E’en the blindest man
Can tell what this resembles most;
Deny the fact who can
This marvel of an Elephant
Is very like a fan!”

The Sixth no sooner had begun
About the beast to grope,
Than, seizing on the swinging tail
That fell within his scope,
“I see,” quoth he, “the Elephant
Is very like a rope!”

And so these men of Indostan
Disputed loud and long,
Each in his own opinion
Exceeding stiff and strong,
Though each was partly in the right,
And all were in the wrong!

So oft in theologic wars,
The disputants, I ween,
Rail on in utter ignorance
Of what each other mean,
And prate about an Elephant
Not one of them has seen!

Either people believe there is current ( cosmic energy or GOD )  or people do not believe there is current.

Knowing the current is spirituality , knowing the use of current is science,

Believing ( theist )…. and not believing ( atheist ) ………both are philosophies.

many time people ask ……. am I a theist ?

many time people ask …….am I an atheist ?

so tell them

atheist is a micro vision of atom

theist is a macro vision of  at OM

knowing is just awareness that you are neither theist or atheist .

love is a vision of cosmic spirit  and true path of enlightenment.

love all.

A Mother’s Advice

Ancient Words of Wisdom Zen Stories

Jiun, a Shogun master, was a well-known Sanskrit scholar of the Tokugawa era. When he was young he used to deliver lectures to his brother students.

His mother heard about this and wrote him a letter.:

“Son, I do not think you became a devotee of the Buddha because you desired to turn into a walking dictionary for others. There is no end to information and commendation, glory and honor. I wish you would stop this lecture business. Shut yourself up in a little temple in a remote part of the mountain. Devote your time to meditation and in this way attain true realization.”

knowing 26 alphabets of English you can express yourself without an end.

With counted ten numbers you can imagine uncountable numbers .

Numbers are additions of one into one,

zero is subtraction of one from one .

Once zero always zero even after applying all mathematical calculations.

“Zero is enlightenment where all numbers are lost”

time to live

Ancient Words of Wisdom

Zen Stories

Time to Die

Ikkyu, the Zen master, was very clever even as a boy.

His teacher had a precious teacup, a rare antique. Ikkyu happened to break this cup and was greatly perplexed. Hearing the footsteps of his teacher, he held the pieces of the cup behind him.

When the master appeared, Ikkyu asked: “Why do people have to die?” “This is natural,” explained the older man. “Everything has to die and has just so long to live.”

Ikkyu, producing the shattered cup, added: “It was time for your cup to die.”

Epilogue ….

everything comes out of nothing go back in nothing …..but some take more time intervals and this extended age makes them rare and antique …… why human wants to be rare and antique in time …..

rare is timeless happiness ….. that is enlightenment ….and time for us to live ….

love all.
